Depending on the configuration of your device, the CRChart installation software (CRChart-Setup.exe) may show the following dialog:
- Check the "More Info" link.
- Click the "Run anyway" button
- You will be asked to allow the installer to make changes to your device:
- Click "Yes" to continue or "No" to terminate the installation.
- Read the End-User License Agreement.
- Click "I Agree" to continue or "Cancel" to terminate the installation.
- If desired, click the "Change" button and choose a different installation folder.
- Click the "Next" button to continue.
- Make sure the Crystal Reports application is not running.
- Click the "Install" button to complete the installation.
- Click the "Readme file" button to view the read me file
- Click the "See Samples Folder" button to view a list of sample report files.
- The "Start Crystal Reports with tutorial report on exit" checkbox will launch Crystal Reports and open a report with CRChart macros. Example:
The successful installation of CRChart 2021 will create the following files in the default or user selected location:
- CRChart-config.exe: Run this program from the start menu to uninstall, repair, or provide a new license number.
- Readme.html: Provide general/overview information about CRChart and other CRChart resources.
- /samples: Folder contains example report files that use CRChart macros.

If the installation is a Free Download version of CRChart, the following message will be shown in the lower/right corner of any chart:
You are using an evaluation version of CRChart. Visit crchart.com to purchase a licensed copy
For a purchased version of CRChart, continue the installation by running the CRChart-Config program from the Start menu.
- You will be asked to allow the configuration program to make changes to your device:
- Click "Yes" to continue or "No" to terminate the installation.
- Click the License button to continue.
- Click the Select button to choose the crchart-license.txt file that was provided with your CRChart purchase.
- Click the Next button to install the license.
